A 12-year-old boy had his jaw broken in a school playground – just days after his mother warned the school he was being bullied.
The boy was injured in a playground at Overton Grange School, in Sutton, on Monday, November 25.
He went to St George’s Hospital in Tooting where he underwent emergency surgery to his jaw.
A spokesperson for Overton Grange said: “There has been an incident in our school between two pupils.
"The school has taken appropriate action and is also offering support to the families concerned.”
A police spokesperson said: “A boy, aged 13, was arrested on suspicion of GBH on Tuesday, November 26, following a report of an assault on a 12-year-old boy on Monday, November 25.
"The 13-year-old has been bailed to return pending further enquiries.”
