Father Christmas, who welcomed people into his grotto, was particularly busy, as was Epsom and Ewell mayor Councillor Colin Taylor and the town crier, who spent time talking to residents.
More than 1,000 visitors turned out to see the Stoneleigh Broadway lights switch-on
Councillor Mike Teasdale, who represents Stoneleigh, said: "It went brilliantly and all the shops did a roaring trade.
"It was a great success and numerous residents were saying that they thoroughly enjoyed themselves and were looking to next year's event already."
The event was organised by the Residents’ Association, with the help of the Broadway’s traders.
Youngsters enjoyed the festivities
