A pit bull terrier that chased a police officer and terrorised neighbours could be destroyed.
Police seized the animal in Courtenay Road, Worcester Park, on Monday, after a number of complaints about the animal's behaviour from neighbours.
One one occasion a PCSO was doing door-to-door enquiries in the area following a burglary and was chased into the street by the beast before its owner grabbed it.
The owner has been reported for having a dog dangerously out of control in a public place and the animal has been seized.
It is being kept in police kennels and its future will be decided by magistrates on a date yet to be set.
As pit bull terriers are illegal in this country, it could be destroyed.
