Council services are set to change over Christmas meaning people may have to wait for their bins to be collected but some parking restrictions will be lifted.
Anyone who would normally get their rubbish collected around Christmas or new year will have their collections postponed by up to three days.
But Sutton Council has reminded people they can use their recycling bins for much of the festive waste including wrapping paper, clean kitchen foil, Christmas cards and even Christmas trees between January 6 and February 1.
Rubbish collections due on Christmas Day and Boxing Day should take place on December 27, those due on December 27 will happen on December 30 and those due on New Year's day will happen on January 2.
All other collections will happen as usual.
Parking enforcement will be carried out as usual on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve but there will be no restrictions in force on Christmas Day.
On Boxing Day and New Year's Day single yellow lines permit bays, and pay and display bays in controlled parking zones will not be enforced and there will be no charge in the ground-level car parks.
Multi-storey car parks will be charged at a flat rate of £1.50 all day.
Penalties will still be issued to anyone parked on double yellow lines, loading bays, on the pavement, in front of drop-kerbs or in a disabled bay.
