Sutton Housing Partnership is celebrating the installation of the 2000th new window through its five-year Decent Homes Programme.

To mark the occasion, the tenants at Garendon Road, were presented with flowers and a shopping voucher from contractor Mulalley and the Mayor of Sutton, Cllr Sean Brennan.

Presenting the flowers, Mayor of Sutton, Cllr Sean Brennan said: “It gives me great pleasure to mark this pivotal moment in our on-going work with Sutton Housing Partnership.

“Both Sutton Council and SHP have shared a common goal since our work began – ensuring residents are provided with high-quality and affordable living conditions.

“It is testament to these efforts that we have reached this tremendous milestone of the 2000th window installation in Sutton.”

Andrew Chalk, Head of Asset Management at Sutton Housing Partnership said: “Decent Homes funding is bringing significant improvements to Council homes and our residents’ lives.

“The total value of the funding programme since 2010, including this year, is £68.5 million. In the next year around £33.4 million will be spent on improving Council homes across the borough.”

The programme includes; window replacement, external and internal repairs and redecorations, garage roof replacements and balcony railing replacements to properties around the borough.

Colin Watson, Operations Director at Mulalley added: “The completion of the 2000th property milestone is a further testament of the continued successful partnership arrangement that we have with the residents and Sutton Housing Partnership.”

Mulalley are in their third year of a four-year, £17 million external repairs and decoration framework with Sutton Housing Partnership.
