A couple's plans to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary in their motor home have been shattered by a thief who stole it from their drive.
Barry and Christine Roper's 23ft Fiat Ducato motor caravan was taken from outside their home in Woodcote Avenue on Tuesday, October 3 - despite being locked with a wheel clamp and a disconnected battery.
The £35,000 motor home
The couple bought their home on wheels for £35,000 in 2008 and have been using it to make the most of their retirement with up to eight trips away in it each year.
The pair were planning a break to celebrate their golden anniversary in March 2014 but now fear they will not be able to afford to replace it despite being insured.
Mr Roper said: "It’s destroyed our confidence. I have a nagging doubt that if I replaced it, then it might get stolen again."
Mrs Roper spotted the vehicle was missing when she went to go out shopping at 8.45am on Wednesday, December 4.
She added: "I could not believe it when I realised it had gone. I would like to get it back. It’s such a nice van."

The motor home is white with the word kon-tiki written on the side. It sleeps six and has a fixed bed, cloakroom, fridge freezer, cooker and a microwave.
A grey awning with a blue trim and a full gas cylinder were in the motor home when it was taken.
