A drug dealer has been jailed for two years after he was caught with crack and heroin in Carshalton.

Mitcham man Nico Georgiou, 26, parked his Ford Focus in Shaftesbury Road and was walking toward the junction with Shrewsbury Road when police stopped him on Wednesday, November 20.

A search found £318 in cash and three mobile phones.

Georgiou told officers he was on his way to buy a bike and he did not have any drugs with him, but a further search at Sutton police station uncovered a black plastic bag containing 48 packages of heroin and 37 packages of crack cocaine.

He told police the drugs were not his but went on to plead guilty two counts of possession of class A drugs with intent to supply at Croydon Crown Court on December 5.

He was sentenced to two years in prison.
