A badly damaged car has been left in a Carshalton street - but no-one has reported a crash to police.

The blue Toyota Corolla was spotted near Carshalton College in Nightingale Road on Tuesday morning with severe damage to its front end suggesting it has been involved in a serious crash.

But mystery shrouds what happened as police say no incident in the area has been reported to them.

Do you know what happened? If so, get in touch with the newsdesk on 0208 722 6359 or email mike.pyle@london.newsquest.co.uk.

All the Police have to do is run the number plate and find out who it belongs to. They will also know if it was reported stolen.

Good lord, it doesn't take Sherlock. Chassis number, registration plate, bet you a steak dinner it's been stolen and abandoned by some fool who argued with a lamppost.

Solved it without leaving my desk.

What exactly is it the police do????  Page 8 of this week's SUTTON GUARDIAN. Shows an article about a badly crashed vehicle that just appeared overnight ,local residents never heard a thing
So was it driven there.. Well that's obvious isn't it.?? Was in left there after an alien abduction??? Again obvious
So here's my obvious answer....It was dumped there , every vehicle has registration numbers that can trace its last known keeper, same as the tax disc, same as the vehicle identification number, engine number, ...... Yes I know bloody obvious... And to put the iceing on the cake you can't go anywhere in the sutton borough and neighbouring boroughs without seeing cctv cameras attached to all and sundry if I was a copper the culprit would be .... Yeah you guessed obvious.
