A new scheme to support entrepreneurs looking to start a business is being launched with the backing of Sutton Council.

The Start Up Sutton scheme aims to provide entrepreneurs with the support they need in developing their ideas through a series of workshops, one to one clinics and ongoing support from specialist advisors.

A launch event is taking place on Tuesday, January 21, at Uno Tapas in Sutton high street, where those taking part will have the opportunity to network with business experts and other local business start ups, receive guidance on attracting funding, and can sample some local tapas and a glass of wine.

Councillor Jayne McCoy, said: “This is a great opportunity for the people of Sutton to realise their dreams of running their own business.

"Whether they are thinking about running their own cafe or cake baking business, manufacturing a new gadget or writing their very own app, Start Up Sutton can provide expert help from business advisors and start up specialists.

“I encourage all residents that are interested in starting their own business or have just started their own business and need some guidance to register for the programme and come along to the launch event on 21 January 2014.”
