A schoolgirl who was hit by a car on New Year's Day remains in a critical condition in hospital.
Miriam Parker, of Carshalton, was struck crossing the road in Selsdon, Croydon, just before 9pm.
The 17-year-old, a pupil at Archbishop Tenison's Church of England High School in Fairfield, is in an induced coma at St George's Hospital in Tooting.
Police arrested the driver of the car, a man in his 40s, on suspicion of causing injury by dangerous driving following the collision in Selsdon Park Road, near Tedder Road, just before 9pm.
He was bailed pending further investigations.
The Metropolitan Police appealed for anyone with information to call 101.
