Father Christmas returned to Sutton this week to hand over one last gift to a hospital radio station.

In possibly his first appearance of 2014, Santa Clause was at Times Square shopping centre to give more than £500 to Radio Marsden, which broadcasts to patients at Royal Marsden cancer hospital in Downs Road.

The money was raised through the Christmas Starts Here pop-up shop, which helps run Santa's grotto, and through donations to the centre's Wishing Well appeal.

Times Square administrator Yvonne Purdy-Mackey said: "It was really good of Father Christmas to delay his much deserved break to present the money to Radio Marsden and of course we look forward to seeing him back later this year.

"Radio Marsden does such a fantastic job throughout the year, bringing genuine joy to patients and staff at the hospital and the money will help to ensure that continues long in to the future."
