Anyone who has been affected by recent rainy weather is being encouraged to contact the council and help improve its flood planning.

Sutton Council is planning to review its flood risk strategy and has launched an online survey for people who have been affected by flooding or who have experienced flood prevention work to get in touch.

Councillor Mary Burstow, chairwoman of the council's scrutiny committee, said: "While we have a good understanding of the flood risk in the borough, there is always more information that we can use.

"We’re keen to hear from people in areas that have experienced flooding as well as from people in areas where action has been taken to reduce the flood risk.

"Any local information that residents and businesses provide will be vital for improving the way we manage our flood risk and respond to flooding."

The survey will be open until April 30. To take part, visit - www.sutton.gov.uk/floodrisksurvey
