Princess Anne visited Kingston yesterday to officially open the headquarters of development charity VSO.
The Princess Royal met staff, trustees and volunteers and watched a volunteer assessment session.
VSO chief executive Marg Mayne said: “We hope Princess Anne enjoyed meeting our volunteers and hearing more about our work fighting poverty through volunteering.
“They were delighted by the interest she showed in their volunteering impact and achievements.”
VSO workers moved to the London Road office from Putney last June.
