Officers arrested 14 suspects in Sutton in a single day of action to crack down on crime on Thursday.

The suspects were arrested on suspicion of a range of offences including GBH, burglary, theft from a vehicle, handling stolen goods, domestic violence and drug crime.

Operation Big Wing was a London-wide crime drive that happened on Thursday and resulted in hundreds of arrests across the capital.

Officers arrested a 22-year-old man following a raid in which they found 11 bags of cannabis in an address off Oakhill Road, Sutton.

They also checked out an exchange shop and a mobile phone kiosk in Sutton High Street. In the exchange shop they found a suspected-stolen iPad hidden in the ceiling and three suspected-stolen mobile phones. They were seized along with £6,000 in cash. Officers seized documents they believe may relate to stolen phones from the kiosk.

A total of three men were arrested on suspicion of handling stolen goods from the shop and the kiosk.

Police discovered five cannabis plants growing in a tent the size of a large wardrobe at a flat in Rosehill Court, St Helier. Further investigations uncovered four pots of cannabis in a cupboard and wraps of the drug in a fridge. A 51-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of cultivation of cannabis and possession with intent to supply.

Police visited a flat in Ross Parade Wallington after getting a call from someone using the tracker function on their stolen iPhone. When the officers arrived they found two men in a van trying to break into another van. Police believe the van the men were driving to be stolen and arrested them and recovered the iPhone.

Enquiries into all the incidents are ongoing.
