A suspected car thief who was arrested after a high-speed chase ended with a crash in Carshalton has appeared in court.
Simon Daniels, of Highbury Avenue in Thornton Heath, appeared in front of Croydon magistrates to deny aggravated vehicle taking, driving while disqualified, dangerous driving and driving without insurance on Friday, January 31.
Daniels was arrested on Wednesday after police spotted a car that had been reported stolen in Croydon.
A chase ensued and ended when the car crashed in Woodmansterne Road at around 4pm and Mr Daniels was arrested in nearby Oaks Park after a chase on foot.
He is due to appear at Croydon Crown Court on February 14.
