A Crystal Palace singer is looking forward to the future after her band’s latest single reached the top five of the charts, writes Andy Bloss.

Neon Jungle, a group made up of four girls from London, Suffolk and Scotland, released their new song Braveheart last month which debuted at number 4 in the charts.

The band is made up of Jess Plummer, Asami Zdrenka, Amira McCarthy and Shereen Cutkelvin.

Plummer, 20, of Crystal Palace, says it has been an amazing time for the band since they released their debut single Trouble last year.

The group are fresh from performing on the Jessie J tour and they were asked by Victoria’s Secret to perform at their secret fashion show.

It is the first time a UK artist has ever been asked to do this and they took to the stage alongside Taylor Swift and Fall Out Boy.

Plummers says: "Our second single has come out and at the moment it is number four in the midweek charts which is great for us.

"We have had a great year. To be asked to perform at the Victoria Secrets gig was manic as we were told pretty last minute so we had to book flights and fly over there pretty quickly.

"It is a different song to Trouble, it gives people a chance to see another side to us. It is a party song but this is something that will get you on the dancefloor.

"I love performing it and I just get lost in the music."

She adds: "The reception we have had from everyone is amazing. Our fan base is incredible considering we have not had the platform like X Factor. We have started from scratch.

"It is crazy how fast everything has gone. I love coming back to Crystal Palace and seeing my friends and family, I can be normal Jess again."

And her aims for the year? "I would love for us to have a number one under our belts this year and for our album to do well. If we can break in America as well it would be a fantastic year."
