A prison officer who had an intimate relationship with a jailed diamond robber sent him videos of herself masturbating, a court heard.

Abbie Levens, 32, has admitted having an improper relationship with criminal Sherome Blair while she was working at High Down prison and he was serving a sentence in 2011, but denies it was sexual.

But, during a trial of issue being held at Guildford Crown Court ahead of her sentencing, prosecuting lawyer Steven Perian detailed correspondence between the pair, including letters, phone calls and text messages he claims shows evidence of a tryst.

He told the court Miss Levens, of Adastra Way, Wallington, sent two messages in the early hours of the morning of June 12, 2011, showing a woman the prosecution claims is Miss Levens masturbating with a vibrator.

A vibrator identical to the one in the video found on a phone in Blair’s cell was recovered during a search of her home after the allegations came to light.

Mr Perian told the court she also sent a text message pledging to have sex with him and another text message with a picture of a bunch of flowers saying: “Mwah. Thank you baby. Xx.”

Mr Perian also read excerpts from letters allegedly sent from Blair to Miss Levens.

In one, he is alleged to have written: “I really do enjoy our encounters, our intimate kisses. It always leaves a beautiful memory in my mind.

“Holding your a***, sliding my thumb all over your mouth. You turn me on instantly.”

The trial of issue is intended to establish whether the pair’s relationship is sexual before she is sentenced.

Miss Levens told the court she could not have had a sexual relationship with Blair during the period as she was on leave and he had been transferred to a separate prison.

She told the court they exchanged sexual “fantasies, stories and dreams” over the phone and wrote letters detailing their fantasies, although she told the court she did not send the letters she wrote.

She said: “I’m not saying it was right but these were just stories, conversations that we had.”

The hearing continues.
