An investigation has started into whether Jimmy Savile abused patients at a children’s hospital in Carshalton Beeches.
Queen Mary’s Hospital for Children, which cared for thousands of children with special needs, is the subject of an inquiry during when it was based in Carshalton Beeches before it closed in 1993.
It later relocated to its current site next to St Helier Hospital.
At a meeting last month director of nursing Pippa Hart confirmed the terms of reference into the Savile enquiry had now been agreed and the investigation was about to start.
The Epsom and St Helier trust were unable to add any more details but said they were due to report back to the Department of Health at some point during the summer.
