A neighbourhood inspector has joined a band of Iron Coppers who fundraise to fight cancer.
Epsom and Ewell Neighbourhood Inspector Craig Knight said the Iron Coppers undertake athletic feats in aid of Cancer Research UK.
Insp Knight said his first challenge is an attempt to run the Surrey Half Marathon between Guildford and Woking in under two hours on Sunday, March 9.
He said: "I lost an uncle to cancer in the last two or three years. My father was diagnosed with cancer and is now in remission. He fought cancer last year and the year before.
"It’s been a long road to recovery. It’s about supporting doctors, nurses and patients who are fighting this on the frontline.
"I can’t give anything other than time but I’m more than happy to that. I’m one of many police officers who have given up their time."
