Despite the protestations of many of the residents of Wallington and the signing of a petition which I signed, our local post office in Ross parade has now shut.
And the new venue is in WH Smiths in Woodcote Road.
I noted when i went into the WH Smith post office that it was staffed with different people. I did not see any of the previous staff who worked at Ross parade.
Have they all been made redundant or been moved to other post offices in the Sutton area?
And what now will happen to the building in Ross parade? Will it lie empty for months or even years, like some of the buildings and shops in Wallington have done in the past?
Maybe it will be extended and turned into flats. I sincerely hope not.
