A delighted girl has been chosen as the next May Queen after trying for a number of years.
Yzanne Pepper, 11, from Walton-on-the-Hill, was selected on Saturday to be crowned at the Walton May Pageant on Saturday, May 17.
Ysanne attends St Andrew's Catholic School in Leatherhead.
Victoria Lord, from the organising committee, said: "We have a very pleased May Queen, she’s been trying for years and years. We are really pleased she has eventually got her crown."
The names of the May Queen and six attendants were randomly drawn from a hat at the Breech Lane Community Centre, Breech Lane, Walton-on-the-Hill, on Saturday.
