Give your views at Epsom and St Helier hospitals 'listening events'

Sutton Guardian: Epsom and St Helier Hospitals Trust will be holding three 'listening events' in March Epsom and St Helier Hospitals Trust will be holding three 'listening events' in March

Do you have valuable feedback and suggestions you would like to put to Epsom and St Helier hospitals?  If so, three ‘listening events’ are being held this month by the hospital trust, together with the independent consumer champion Healthwatch.

The events, which will take place in March across Surrey, Merton and Sutton, are being held to find out what people think about the hospitals and how they can be improved.

Matthew Hopkins, chief executive of the trust, said: "Our patients’ health and wellbeing is at the heart of everything we do.

"An important part of that is listening to patients and their loved ones to find out what we do well, and where we need to improve.

"Following on from the Francis report, which looked into failings at Mid-Staffordshire Hospital, we have been reviewing patient care and working hard to make sure we are truly hearing what our patients have to say.

"And that’s why we are hosting these public listening events - it’s important that we hear our patients’ voices.

"We have held a series of listening events with our staff and volunteers recently, and now we are working with Healthwatch to hear what local people think of their care experiences too.

"These listening events are a vital tool for people to help us understand where we need to focus and make quality improvements within our service."

The first event will be held at Bourne Hall, Spring Street, Ewell, on Monday, March 10, from 2pm to 4pm.

Another will be on Thursday, March 27 at Morden Assembly Hall, Tudor Drive, Morden, from 5.30pm to 7.30pm.

The third will be at Sutton Salvation Army Church and Community Centre, Benhill Avenue, Sutton, on Monday, March 31, from 2pm to 4pm.

Mr Hopkins, the trust’s joint medical directors Dr James Marsh and Dr Ruth Charlton, and Pippa Hart, director of nursing, will be at each event.
