A school girl whizz kid inventor has won a national competition and been honoured in Parliament.

Danielle Miller, 13, entered a competition started by Carshalton and Wallington MP, Tom Brake called We Made It that gave 11- to 14- year olds a chance submit their ideas for inventions and to see their inventions come to life in Parliament.

Danielle’s idea for a baby milk bottle called Milk-o-meter that keeps milk at a controlled temperature defeated 520 other entries and was chosen as the winner.

The Stanley Park High School pupil along with her parents met with MP Tom Brake before attending the awards ceremony where she saw her product for the first time.

Mr Brake said, "I congratulate Danielle for such a tremendous achievement. At such a young age, she has huge potential. I hope in a few years time, Danielle will be wowing the entrepreneurs on Dragon’s Den."

Danielle said her prototype was not what she imagined it would be like but added: Meeting Tom was great and finally seeing my prototype was fabulous.

"We Made It has taught me to always try your hardest and never be afraid to share your ideas with other people."

"Although my prototype wasn't what I imagined it to be like, I can develop it and maybe sell some. I am so excited as to what may come out of this experience."

Danielle Miller’s entry was selected as one of seven national winners.
