10 months ago a fire damaged the heavily used pavilion in Cheam Park. It has since been left to rot away with no concern by this complacent, uncaring council.
The pavilion was used by many local youth and sports clubs before the fire and also served as a cafe. Since the fire it has been left with its roof open letting in rain and just left to rot away.
Why is this not being repaired or replaced? Did Sutton Council fail to insure the building?
I continue to be astounded at the mismanagement of this publicly owned assets and the apparent disregard for the continuing needs of the local youth and sports clubs who rely on this facility.
I am standing as a UKIP councillor in the May elections for Cheam so that I can get issues like the Cheam Park Pavilion resolved in an efficient and timely manner as the current councillors just don’t seem to care anymore.
Steve Carpenter
UKIP Council Candidate, Cheam Ward
