In all the discussions regarding the budget there has typically been no mention at all of the colossal cost to our economy of being in the EU. For example, our annual budget deficit is currently over £100 billion/annum. Yet the current annual cost to our economy of being in the EU is about £170 billion/annum. This is equivalent to the cost of the annual salaries of about 800 nurses for every hour we are in the EU.

Since joining the EEC in 1973 our accumulated balance of trade with the EU is a deficit currently costing us over £1 trillion, whereas our accumulated balance of trade with the rest of the world was a surplus worth £245 billion to 2012.

Our national debt is over £1 trillion. Using the annual cost figure of £170 billion it is easy for me to show that since joining the EEC in 1973 the accumulated current cost to our economy could be over £7 trillions, that is 7 times our current national debt.

For this we get bossed around by un-elected bureaucrats in Brussels and have lost 80% of our vote. After 40 years in the EEC/EU we have 2.5 million un-employed, yet another 450 million EU citizens have legal rights to come here any day they want. Incredibly the Lib/Lab/Con quacks are all determined we continue taking this ruinous EU medicine! What on earth for?
