Children crawled through mud, swam in their clothes, ate horrible jelly, tackled assault course obstacles and lapped playing fields on Saturday.
More than 60 competitors took part in the African Warrior Challenge at Chinthurst School in Tadworth Street, Tadworth, in aid of a South African charity.
The challenge supported underprivileged children through the Kusasa Project. Year 7 and 8 boys will deliver equipment and clothing during their South African rugby tour in April.
Headmaster David Williams said: "This is a traditional annual family Chinthurst event and the course the boys and girls are undertaking is extremely challenging but the pupils recognise that it is for a very worthwhile cause and all compete to the best of their ability."
