Leatherhead Swimming Club are fifth in the overall medals table going into the final meeting of the Surrey Schools Swimming Championships this weekend.

Last Sunday’s penultimate race weekend at Crystal Palace saw the club bring home 14 medals, including four golds bringing their tally to 35 so far.

The stand-out swimmer in south London was Jocelyn Cosmatos, 11, who won three golds (in the 100m freestyle, and backstroke and freestyle over 50m) and a silver (50m butterfly), while Jamie Wilks, 14, won gold (100m freestyle) and two silvers (200m breaststroke and 50m freestyle).

Edward Reed, 12, collected a triple whammy of silver medals (in the 100m freestyle, 200m breaststroke and 50m freestyle), and there was another silver gong for 16-year-old Valentyna Foytlova (50m breaststroke).

Emma Brown, 15, Amelia Reed, 16, and Holly Cottam, 10, each won bronze in the 50m backstroke, 50m breaststroke and 50m backstroke respectively.
