Police are hunting a flasher who exposed himself to four schoolgirls walking through the woods.

The man thought to be in his 40s alarmed the schoolgirls in Burgh Heath Wood sometime between 4.15pm and 4.45pm last Thursday, March 13.

He was white, about 5ft 8ins, slim and had very short grey hair. He wore a flat cap, dark coat with a grey top underneath, navy jeans and trainers.

On Saturday, March 15, an earlier incident which took place nearby was also reported to police.

This happened in the second week of February, when a man exposed himself to two schoolgirls walking along Tattenham Way at about 4.25pm.

He was described as white, his late 40s, of medium build and bald. He wore a long black knee-length coat, dark blue jeans and a chequered shirt.

Investigating officer PC Gemma Taylor, said: "First of all I must commend the bravery of the young girls involved.

"On each occasion they showed a high level of maturity in dealing with a serious situation which they should not have had to deal with at such a young age.

"At this stage in the investigation we are keeping an open mind to whether the incidents are linked due to the location of each offence and the suspect descriptions.

"If you have your suspicions around someone you know, please contact officers with information as we need to find this man and bring him to justice for his actions.

"No doubt these incidents will have caused some concern in the local area and officers will be working with local schools and providing reassurance patrols in the vicinity.

"It may be that there are further witnesses out there, who for whatever reason have not yet contacted officers with information, I would urge these people to do so as they may have information vital to our investigation."

Anyone who has information on these offences is urged to contact Surrey Police on 101 quoting reference 45140019760.
