An anonymous good Samaritan gave a woman an unexpected birthday present by sending her a purse she thought was long-lost.
Hale. of Carshalton Road in Sutton, dropped her purse in early December. She retraced her steps but could not find it and went to the police station but nothing had been handed in.
The mum-of-two assumed she would never see her purse or its contents again and gave up hope of finding it.
However, earlier this month, just days after her birthday, a package arrived in the post and it contained her purse.
The 33-year-old said: "I couldn't believe it when I saw it. There was still money in it, all my cards, my photos - everything.
"I think they must have got my address off my driving licence.
"But there was no note in it so I have no idea who sent it. I just want to be able to say thanks to them and let them know how grateful I am.
"It's nice to think that there are still nice, honest people out there."
