Learn how to avoid getting diabetes at an event this week

The Healthy Lifestyle Roadshow will be offering valuable information on how to avoid type two diabetes through diet and physical exercise in Sutton High Street on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Sutton has an estimated 2,475 people with type two diabetes but do not know it. The roadshow will allow people to get a confidential assessment to check their risk of developing the disease.

Diabetes can lead to complications such as heart disease, strokes, kidney disease, blindness and can even lead to amputations unless managed properly.

Diabetes UK, sponsor of the roadshow, believes up to 80 per cent of type two diabetes cases could be delayed or prevented by maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
