Determined athletes from all over the borough are limbering up to take on one of running's biggest challenges.
The London Marathon takes place on Sunday, with more than 30,000 runners taking on the 26mile course around the capital.
Among them will be runners from Sutton who are doing the challenge for various good causes.
Carshalton amateur boxer Paul Simmons, 28-years-old, will be running to raise money for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust as his girlfriend's younger brother and sister both have the life-shortening condition.
Mr Simmons, who works maintaining lifts on the Underground, said the training has been hard but he does not mind as it is for a good cause.

Kate Harbottle-Joyce, 32-years-old, is running in memory of her late dad and grandmother who both died from lymphoma. She is hoping to raise £500 for the Lymphoma Association.

The Sutton woman added: "Both my late Dad, Malcolm Harbottle, and my Nanna, Sheila Wiltshire, had chronic lymphatic leukaemia which is a form of lymphoma.
"Many people haven’t heard of lymphoma despite it being the UK’s fifth most common cancer, so I hope by taking part in the London Marathon for the Lymphoma Association I’ll be helping to raise awareness."

Carshalton man Peter Romanov is running his third London Marathon to raise money for the charity Crimestoppers, which helps people report crimes anonymously.

He chose Crimestoppers after he found himself caught up in the riots that affected London nearly three years ago. He was coming home from work through Lewisham in his car when he arrived at a roadblock made up or rioters.
He said: "I was forced to abandon my car and all my possessions and to run for safety. I was luckier than many others as I came to no physical harm and only lost a car, laptop, mobile phones and other material things that can be replaced."

Younger runners will be taking on the London Mini-Marathon over the weekend and one girl has beaten the odds to be among them.

Chloe Duncan, 12-years-old, has raised more than £1,000 for the Great Ormond Street Hospital before she runs the three mile course. She chose the famous hospital as she was received major windpipe surgery there when she was only four-years-old.
Mum Debbie Duncan said: "I am incredibly proud of her and I never expected her to go into anything sporty considering her condition.
"She has come such a long way from when she was a tiny baby."
