Two football-loving fundraisers have joined forces to raise money for Help for Heroes.

James Allchin and Chris Snelling will tackle a gruelling 250-mile bike ride, stopping off at 7 football grounds along the way.

The charitable friends, both from North Cheam, will begin their challenge at the Sutton United pitch.

From there they will cycle to football grounds in Woking, Southampton, Portsmouth, Brighton, Crawley and Thamesmead, before finishing at the Horse Guards Parade in Whitehall.

Their fundraiser ties in with the ‘Hero Ride’ event organised by Help for Heroes.

It kicks off on June 5 and will finish on June 8.

On the final day 2,000 cyclists will pull into London after completing various routes around the UK.

Mr Allchin, 25, who set up The Beautiful Aim Foundation in 2010, is hoping to raise at least £2,000.

The group seek to raise money for good causes through football related events.

Since its inception the foundation has raised a combined £9,300 for Help for Heroes, Movember, Sport Relief, Cancer Research UK and the British Heart Foundation.

Mr Allchin, a sales consultant for Virgin Active in Colliers Wood, said: “Lots of people know the dangers our soldiers face and everything they go through, but most people do nothing about it.

“I helped raise £4,000 in a previous event, and found out £2,000 of it paid for a soldier’s amputated leg.

“It was a great feeling knowing I had helped that person, which is why I keep on doing it.”

Mr Allchin and Mr Snelling, 24, will sleep in Travel Lodges on the three day slog.
