A rehabilitation garden has opened and is ready to bloom at the country’s leading medical centre for injured servicemen and women.
The garden was opened at Headley Court, near Epsom, today (May 14), thanks to charities HighGround and ABF The Soldiers’ Charity.
It will provide patients with the chance to develop their physical skills within an occupational therapy surrounding.
HighGround, a newly-formed charity working to help with the transition from military to civilian life by finding jobs for ex-servicemen and woman in land management and production, environmental activities and animal health and welfare, has also teamed up with Headley Court to provide a horticultural therapist.
ABF The Soldiers’ Charity will be hosting a show garden at this year’s Chelsea Flower Show, with plants provided by HighGround and patients from Headley Court.
