An elderly driver has been taken to hospital after a crash on the M25 in the early hours of this morning.
The male driver of a car was seriously injured in the crash with a white HGV near junction 9 at Leatherhead at 1am.
Police said the elderly victim, who drove a red Ford Fiesta, was taken to St George’s Hospital in Tooting.
A South East Coast Ambulance spokesman said: “Three ambulance crews attended the scene. They were later joined at the scene by an ambulance car and the air ambulance road vehicle.
“Two patients were assessed and treated at the scene before being taken to St George’s Hospital. According to our log, one of the patients taken to St Georges was a man aged approximately 30 years old.”
Two lanes of the M25 were closed at the time of the crash.
