Gander Green Lane is a road heavily used by HGV traffic.
As the road is not wide enough for HGV traffic when these vehicles are on the road other vehicles including HGVs are regularly compelled to flout road safety rules and drive on the pavement.
This is a huge concern for pedestrians including school children and elderly.
Sutton Council refuses to acknowledge the problem and have only made token gestures to road safety by installing couple of bollards.
Yet the problem is wide scale on many sections of the road and a continuous problem on the.
Essentially the council needs to impose a restriction on HGV traffic over 7 tonne on the road. But Sutton council refuses.
