An under 10s football team has been crowned undefeated league winners in just their first season together.

Croygas Youth entered the Surrey Youth League division four at the start of the 2013/14 season, winning every single game to top the table.

They will be presented with their trophy and winners' medals this Sunday, May 25.

The team trains in Wallington, with players coming from Sutton, Merton and Kingston.

The side's only defeat came in the Surrey Youth Cup final in April, having ousted teams from higher divisions along the way.

They made up for that setback earlier this month, by winning a weekend football tournament in Hastings consisting of teams from across south east England.

They were congratulated by Southampton legend Matthew Le Tissier, who presnted the trophy.

Head coach Paul Lawrence said 'We could not have predicted such amazing success at the start of the season, but the boys have worked hard and surpassed all of our expectations.

"Let's hope we can build on this success for next season'.
