A pre-school has been shut down by schools' watchdog Ofsted after a child was able to leave unnoticed.
St Albans Pre-School in Gander Green Lane has been closed until it can demonstrate to Ofsted that it is secure after the child was able to escape without anyone noticing earlier this month.
A spokesman for Ofsted said: "We suspended this pre-school’s registration after it told us a child left unnoticed.
"They will have to demonstrate to us that the premises are secure and they are compliant with the early years requirements before we allow it to open again."
St Albans Pre-School, which is run by the company Tinylittletinkers, declined to comment.
