If you went down to Nonsuch Park on Sunday you were in for a big surprise, because that was the day the teddy bears had their picnic.

Hundreds of bear-huggers descended on the park in Cheam to enjoy a range of activities.

There were performances from gymnasts, and children were able to explore the inside of a fire engine.

Sutton United mascot Jenny Giraffe also dropped-by to say hello to the teddy bears.

The event, which was organised by the Sutton, Epsom and District Branch of the National Childcare Trust, was in its 17th year.

It ran from midday to 4pm on Sunday June 8.
