A group of travellers that set up camp on a Sutton park have been successfully removed.
Travellers parked several caravans on Rosehill Park West on Sunday but Sutton Council managed to remove them from the site on Wednesday afternoon.
A spokesman for the council said: "The travellers left Rosehill Park after we served notice on them.
The travellers set up camp on Sunday but left yesterday
"This was done as quickly as possible so it is a good result due to the efficient measures we have in place."
Sutton Council has a responsibility to ensure the welfare of any children among a group of travellers before a camp can be dispersed. The council must also make sure any children are in education.
Once these checks have taken place groups may be served with eviction notices.
