Carshalton College has met the UK standard for the level of service it provides.

The Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA) has released its findings follow a review in March.

The team were satisfied academic standards and the quality and enhancement of student learning opportunities met expectations.

Their review praised the college for how it engages with students, and supports them as independent learners.

It is also recognised it provides learning opportunities with work-based mentors.

The QAA reported the college’s quality of information about learning opportunities also met expectations.

But the review found the college needs to have student representation on the Higher Education Steering Group.

Janet Sherborne, head of Carshalton College, said: 'I am extremely proud of our growing higher education provision, and I am delighted with the findings and accreditation of QAA.

'We have a dedicated team who put students' needs at the centre of everything we do.

“Our aim is to produce confident learners who go on to be a great success in their chosen field.”

The successful review means Carshalton College can display the QAA Quality Mark, to indicate it meets national requirements for standards and quality.

The QAA published its findings on June 12.

Carshalton College is based in Nightingale Road, Carshalton.
