Sutton’s new mayor Councillor Arthur Hookway has launched a new arts organisation at The Sutton Life Centre.

Arts Network Sutton (ANS) will promote culture, and help arts group build relationships with organisations that can support them.

ANS chairman Steve Penneck said: “The launch was a great event showcasing some of our local performers.

“It was a good chance to network and get to know each other better.

“Many thanks to all who participated.”

Coun Arthur Hookway launched the new scheme on Thursday June 12, and praised the arts for improving the quality of people’s lives.

The ANS has taken over the role from the Sutton Arts Council.
