A driver who "cheated the system" by letting her relative use her parking permit has been fined more than £800.
Josie Ison of Crown Road in Sutton allowed a relative to use her visitors' parking permit to park in the car park of Gibson House, while her relative went to work for the day.
Ison admitted fraud in front of Croydon magistrates on Tuesday, June 17.
In passing sentence, the magistrates gave Ison credit for her early guilty plea and took into account that she was of previous good character but fined her £385 and ordered her to pay costs of £450 and a £15 victim surcharge.
Councillor Jill Whitehead, chairwoman of the council's environment and neighbourhood committee, said: "It is imperative that we send the clear message that cheating the system is unacceptable, parking permit fraud is picking the pockets of law-abiding taxpayers.
"The council and police have an excellent working relationship and we will do everything in our power to find anybody trying to deceive in this way."
