Sutton Police made eight arrests yesterday as part of a London-wide crackdown on crime.
Officers carried out search warrants at Pinners Close, Carshalton, Gomshall Avenue, Wallington and McRae Lane, Mitcham.
The arrests were made for drugs, theft, and other offences.
As part of Operation Big Wing the police visited secondary schools to give safety advice to students.
Officers also searched the Benhill and Collingwood estates for weapons, but nothing was found.
Detective Superintendent Fran Smith said: "The day's activities provided us with the opportunity to reassure residents of our continuing commitment to catch criminals, and make it known that their activities will not be tolerated.
"It was also about reassuring residents we want to work with them to continue to keep Sutton a low crime borough and one of the safest in London."
