Sutton Neighbourhood Watch has seen its biggest ever rise in numbers, gaining an extra 1,200 members in the last year.
The group now has a co-ordinator in each of the borough’s 18 wards, with 4,200 across 1,134 watches.
Heather Shaw, chairman of the Sutton Neighbourhood Watch Association, announced the figures at their annual meeting on Tuesday, July 8.
Speaking at the Civic Offices in St. Nicholas Way, Sutton, she thanked her committee and the Met Police for their support.
