Crowds flocked to soak up the sunshine and bask in a field of lavender at the weekend.

Mayfield Lavender, a 25-acre farm in Banstead, held its annual two-day festival on July 12 and 13, with activities including bug hunts, face-painting, tractor rides, tours of the fields, massages, wreath-making classes, photography classes, Morris dancing and a hog roast.

The family-run farm grows lavender organically, with no chemical fertilisers, pesticides or herbicides.

This is in Carshalton not Banstead. The field comes under Carshalton South and Clockhouse Ward. Another classic example of poor local knowledge by and reporting.
