I'm glad that Tiffany is safe and well and back home.

Where has she been though and why did an alert for her suddenly go out? Earlier reports say that she was on the Missing People website, is that really necessary after just 1 day?

A previous news item a few weeks ago when another 15 year old went 'missing' prompted a similar reaction.

I'm glad that social media and the Guardian website can assist in such cases but we never know why these stories make the headlines in the first place.

Were there family reasons why these teenagers went 'missing' or was it just a case of not communicating with their parents/guardians to tell them where they were?
