Antique weapons and war medals were stolen in a break-in at a collector's home last month.

The items, which included medals from both world wars and 15 bottles of spirits, were taken from a house in Poplar Road between June 13 and June 27.

The items included a Japanese bayonet with a black leather scabbard, two French bayonets, one with St Etienne 1879 carved on the handle, two sets of British and Empire World War One medals including a Mons Star, two sets of British World War II medals and three German Iron Crosses from both world wars.

The owner is keen to have the items returned.
