An African wildcat which escaped from an address in Elmbridge has been reunited with its owners.
The serval, which is roughly 18ins tall and has markings similar to a leopard, went missing at 9am yesterday morning.
It was found in a neighbour’s house late last night.
When the cat went missing Surrey police released a statement saying: “The cat is not aggressive and we do not believe it to be dangerous, but it is obviously very scared and may hiss."
The animal's natural habitat is in savannahs south of the Sahara desert.
West Molesey Police were called out at 8:50pm and the cat was returned to its owner.
