Pop singer and reality television star Peter Andre was "blown away" on a visit to a leading children’s charity.

Andre made a trip to The Children’s Trust, in Tadworth, on Thursday, July 31, which provides treatment for children with complex disabilities and acquired brain injuries.

He met pupils at the charity’s on-site school and was invited into a hydrotherapy session where he was introduced to Geraint Richards who sustained a brain injury from an asthma attack.

The 12-year-old has been receiving a range of therapies including speech and language to develop his voice again.

Geraint surprised and humoured everyone by clearly addressing Andre by his name and proceeding to sing a little bit of his renowned hit, Mysterious Girl.

Andre said he was "blown away" by the state-of-the-art facilities.

He added: "The one thing that really hit me today was how happy a place it is.

"The staff are full of smiles and laughter, as are the children.

"It’s certainly a dedicated team here providing support, education, respite and rehabilitation for children.

"Meeting the kids and hearing about their journey of recovery was the icing on the cake.

"Today has really opened my eyes. I never knew that these amazing facilities existed.

"The Children’s Trust is a charity to shout about."

A spokeswoman for the charity said: "Thank you to Louise Beckley, a rehabilitation care assistant at The Children’s Trust and Paul Jaconelli from Romans International in Banstead who is friends with Peter and asked him to visit."
