Epsom and Ewell's Liberal Democrats have chosen their parliamentary candidate for next year's General Election.

Steve Gee, a managing partner of a large multi-national construction consultancy, was unanimously voted in at a hustings event at Bourne Hall.

He has lived in the Epsom and Ewell constituency for 24 years and is a former Chairman of the Epsom and Ewell Party. 

Mr Gee stood as Liberal Democrat parliamentary candidate for Wimbledon in the 2005 General Election where he increased the Liberal Democrats' share of the vote of by 40 per cent.

Mr Gee said: "Next year's election will be tough for us. We have new challenges as a party of government and I will be a strong advocate for our policies and our record of achievements."
